urAdopt · How adoption works

List, screen, place

For adopters and placement organizations. Three steps from intake to placement, with welfare screening at each stage.

On a phone

Live screens from the product, captured on a phone with demonstration data.

Listing quality panel showing what a draft listing still needs before it goes live.
Before a listing goes live, it shows what is missing.
Adoption screen listing the other applications that were declined when one adoption completed.
When one adoption completes, the other applications are closed.

List

Create a detailed animal profile with health records, behavioral notes and species-specific descriptors. Before a listing goes live, it shows exactly what is still missing.

Screen

Applicants complete welfare questionnaires and a reusable adopter profile covering housing, household, experience and a veterinary reference. The organization’s team reviews it before any placement.

Place

Approve a match, transfer medical records and generate the placement agreement, signed by both sides electronically. When one adoption completes, the other applications for the same animal are closed.

Follow-ups after adoption

In progress

Check-in requests at 30, 90 and 365 days keep the placement record current and surface welfare concerns early.

Questions

Do I fill in a new application every time?

No. The adopter profile is reusable.

Do medical records come with the animal?

Yes. Placement transfers the medical records.
